Alan Bacarese

Alan Bacarese is a Stream House Director and widely considered a leading international authority on trans-national bribery, corruption and asset recovery. A UK Barrister, Alan was a Senior Crown Prosecutor with the UK’s CPS until 2007 before helping to establish the International Centre for Asset Recovery (ICAR) where he contributed significantly to the creation of its legal and case consultancy practice. During 2011-14 Alan worked as Special Counsel to Peters & Peters LLP in London and advised on complex corruption and money laundering cases for individuals and companies. After a period of time in 2014 acting as an EU advisor on Rule of Law reform in Montenegro, Alan is currently based in East Africa working with high level public officials on the investigation and prosecution of grand corruption cases. Alan also serves as an expert member of the Inter American Development Bank’s Sanctions Committee and has co-authored many books and technical papers on bribery and corruption, fraud, asset recovery and human rights.
